May 4 - The premier springtime event and fundraiser for the arts! The crowd gathers on a perfect spring Sunday afternoon for great food, jazzy music, great artwork, a beautiful bayou-side outdoor setting and a lot of fun. The event can be no other than the 17th annual Blend of the Bayou
by Men Who Cook and Men Who Mix, held by the Northeast Louisiana Arts Council to help underwrite Arts Council projects including touring age-appropriate activities to area schools. The wildly popular event centers around a wide array of delicious food and beverages prepared and served by 50 prominent area professionals and businessmen who generously volunteer their time and talents for the cause. The results of their labors are served from whimsically decorated tasting tables in a pastoral bayou-side setting. Adding the finishing touches to a perfect afternoon is a local band to provide upbeat live music for the event, artworks from over 20 area artists for sale, the Men Who Brew sponsored by Community Trust Bank and the Men Who Mix sponsored by BancorpSouth whose officers and other celebrity bartenders provide guests with their favorite libation. 5:00 until 7:00 PM.
